Work Health and Safety Solutions for Business

Work Health and Safety Management Systems and Safe Work Method StatementsManaging your Work Health and Safety (WHS) responsibilities ensuring safe work environments can be challenging for most small business owners. Creating your own Work Health and Safety Management System can also seem overwhelming, not knowing where to start, creating all the documents and keeping up with the changes in Work Health and Safety Legislation and Codes of Practice.

For some businesses, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Policies and Procedures which form a part of your Work Health and Safety system may be all that is required, but the time to develop these documents is more than many business owners are willing, or can realistically dedicate.

Introducing Occupational Safety Solutions – Work Health and Safety Specialists

Occupational Safety Solutions can help save you time with three cost effective solutions to creating the Work Health and Safety documents you need:

All documents are provided in Microsoft Word format. You will be able to start work on your Work Health and Safety system immediately and easily customise each document to match the specific needs of your business.

It’s as simple as branding and completing certain elements in the Work Health and Safety documents. Once you have customised and integrated the Work Health and Safety Management System into your business practices you can independently seek certification.

NEW WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY (WHS) HARMONISATION

New Work Health and Safety laws replaced the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) laws in all states and territories across Australia on 1 January 2012. The new legislation will replace the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001. Safe Work Australia developed model Work Health and Safety Regulations, Codes of Practice, guidance material and compliance and enforcement policies to support the model Work Health and Safety Act.

The new Work Health and Safety laws will provide greater consistency, certainty and clarity across Australia making it easier to understand your work health and safety duties. To assist business, industry and the community transition to the new legislation, transitional arrangements have been implemented. Codes of Practice provide practical guidance on how to meet the standards set out in the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011.

Each jurisdiction will go through the process of enacting its own Work Health and Safety legislation which mirrors the model laws. In some jurisdictions minor but necessary variations may be made to ensure consistency with relevant drafting protocols and other workplace health and safety laws and processes.
